Kilifi Youths Dismantle Dais Set Up By William Ruto’s Team, Accuse DP of Trespass

Dais set up by William Ruto’s campaign team in Kilifi has been dismantled by youths accusing him of trespass.

A group of youths in Kilifi pulled down a dais set up by Deputy President William Ruto’s campaign team ahead of the Kenya Kwanza tour in the county.

The coalition’s supporters, led by ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula, were set to hold a series of demonstrations in Taita Taveta and Kilifi counties on Friday.

The planned gathering in Kilifi, however, was thwarted after the youngsters demolished the platform set up on Mkwajuni grounds, which they claimed was private property.

They accused Ruto’s presidential campaign organizers of trespass.

“I want to send a message to the deputy president. He can organize his rallies all over the country, but he should know that private property is a no-go zone.

This is our family land and he has no permission to come and organize his rallies here,” said one of the youths.
