The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has announced the death of Mama Fatuma Juma Meri, the Kwale ODM County Office Administrator (official).
In a statement on Sunday, May 19, the Raila Odinga-led party stated that Mama Fatum, who was also the ODM Women League Chair Msambweni Branch, passed away on Sunday morning.
“The Orange family is mourning the death of Mama Fatuma Juma Meri early this morning after a short illness. Fatuma Juma Meri was until her death the Kwale ODM County Office Administrator and ODM Women League Chair Msambweni Branch,” read part of the statement.
The party further added that she was dedicated to the party ideology, loyal to the party and served diligently for the growth of the party in Kwale.
“We shall miss her. We pray for the family of the late Mama Fatuma, friends and the Kwale County ODM fraternity for this loss,” ODM stated.

Mama Fatuma’s death comes days after the party lost another official, Mama Zahra, in Lamu County.
In a statement on Thursday, May 16, Raila eulogized Mama Zahra as a highly valued and respected member of the ODM Party team in Lamu County and nationally.
“On behalf of the entire membership of our Party and on my own behalf, I wish to express our most sincere sympathies to you Mama Zahra’s family, her colleagues, and friends. I wish you the fortitude to bear this great loss,” Raila remarked.
