Raila Tosha! Martha Karua is set to join the Azimio la Umoja movement in support of Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.
Karua is expected to make the statement on Wednesday, following speculation about whether she will say Raila Tosha! or join DP William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza party.
Karua’s party will attend a joint press conference with Azimio la Umoja, indicating a possible alliance between Narc Kenya and the Azimio outfit.
Dennis Onsarigo, the communication director for Azimio la Umoja, confirmed to a local newspaper that the meeting would be held at 11:30 a.m., but did not reveal the agenda.
“Yes, they will be holding a joint press conference at 11:30am,” Onsarigo affirmed.
Asked whether Karua would officially declare joining the Raila Odinga-led coalition, Onsarigo said, “I don’t know. I’m also going to find out at that meeting,” he said.
However, a tweet from Narc Kenya suggested that the event could lead to the party teaming up with Azimio ahead of the August 9 elections.
“A time to finally steer the nation is finally here and change is at sight,” read the tweet.
