A six-month-old baby after in Siaya admitted father poured hot water aimed at mother on her in a domestic quarrel.

A six-month-old baby girl is fighting for her life at Yala sub-county hospital after she was burnt and seriously injured by her father following a domestic wrangle at Siandha ‘B’ village in East Gem location.

The infant’s father who has been identified as Victor Njeri is said to have had a domestic wrangle with his wife when he decided to pour hot water on the child.

According to a police incident report, the incident was reported to Ramula police post by the area acting Assistant Chief Vitalis Otunga, who stated that the man wanted to pour the hot water on the wife who was carrying the child.

Following the incident, the child’s mother screamed, attracting the attention of neighbors, who rushed to the scene and took the child to hospital.

The neighbours descended on the culprit with kicks and blows before he was rescued by officers from Ramula police post.

The child and father are undergoing treatment at the same hospital as investigations continue into the matter.
