According to the 2024/25 Programme Based Budget, this is an increase of Ksh59 million in allocations to the Office over the fiscal year 2023/24.

The funds will be allocated to four main programs in his office: General Administration and Support Services, Coordination and Supervision, Office of the Spouse of the Deputy President, and Government Strategic Priorities and Interventions.

Administrative services include facilitating DP and spouse engagements and improving the degree of coordination in the Office.

It also includes the upkeep of Gachagua’s official residence in Karen, Nairobi, as well as the renovation and maintenance of the Harambee House Annex.

For coordination and oversight, four progress reports are prepared each fiscal year to keep the public informed about the status of the government’s strategies, as well as two consultation forums on the International Development Partnerships Coordination projects.

The budget includes all of Gachagua and Pastor Dorcas Rigathi’s engagements. Donor-funded initiatives from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies will also be tracked and reported on.

According to the National Treasury, 44 progress reports are required every financial year.

The Office of the Spouse of the Deputy President focuses on collaborative efforts to improve the well-being of boys in society.

A portion of the Ksh4 billion would be utilized to identify and screen 12,000 boys for drug and substance addiction, and to facilitate 18 camps held in various counties.

The monies will also be utilized to train 2,400 boys, 1,000 widows, 40 widows’ groups, and carry out ten sensitization programs.

Other projects involve coordinating Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC) services to improve collaboration between national and county governments.
