Family appeals for justice after finding the body of a missing man dead with bullet wounds.
The family of a 26-year-old man who went missing over 10 days ago on Saturday demanded justice after their kin’s dead body was recovered in Mombasa County.
According to family members, the deceased allegedly sustained three bullet wounds on his body and was reportedly shot during the anti-government protests.
Per the relative’s narration, he was shot from the back with the bullet hitting his chest. Family members argued that the deceased was attempting to run.
The deceased originally from Kitale, Kericho County secured a job in Mombasa and had worked there for about a year before his sudden demise.
The family who spoke to the press explained that they were looking for him in Kitale before going to Mombasa and were met with his lifeless body. They received a message informing them of the man’s death.
“My child was murdered like an animal, I am pleading with the government to ensure justice is served. My son was killed while coming home to work,” the deceased’s mother remarked while fighting back tears.

On the other hand, the deceased’s uncle was also angered by the turn of events questioning why the deceased had to be shot three times yet he was reportedly not demonstrating.
They therefore questioned why he was killed.
The family called upon the government to intervene and ensure all those involved were brought to book. He is among the over 20 victims who were reported to have lost their lives during the nationwide protests.
Another family was also in mourning after finding their kin’s dead body in Mombasa, the man originally from Kisii travelled to Mombasa for work.
He was reportedly shot by police officers during the anti-government protests that turned chaotic in Mombasa. The family revealed that the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) had begun investigations.
IPOA last week launched investigations into the 39 deaths, 150 injuries and abductions witnessed across the country during the protests.
