After killing Raila they now want to kill his ODM party as well; James Orengo
Siaya Governor James Orengo has stated that after former Prime Minister Raila Odinga died, saying that he was killed by people he did not name, those people are now targeting Raila’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
While speaking at a highly charged Linda Mwananchi rally at Amalemba Grounds in Kakamega Town on Saturday, February 21, 2026, the Siaya governor told supporters that after the late ODM leader, who led the party for over two decades, died, some people have now embarked on a mission to finish the party.
“Kifo ya Raila Odinga wameua Raila Odinga, sasa wanataka kuua chama cha Raila.”

His remarks were received with loud ululations from supporters who had turned up in large numbers to witness the “Sisi Ni Sifuna” Linda Mwananchi rally.

Orengo went on to state that Raila’s ODM party is still strong, dismissing what he described as an attempted ouster of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as the party’s Secretary General.
He insisted that Sifuna remains the legitimate ODM Secretary General.
At that moment, the crowd went wild after the DJ replayed Raila’s famous soundbite stating that when Sifuna speaks, he does so on behalf of the party. The excitement forced Orengo to pause briefly as the crowd erupted into a frenzy.
This is not the first time Orengo has raised questions surrounding Raila Odinga’s death. He has previously vowed that at the right time, he will reveal what truly caused Raila’s death, maintaining that it was not natural attrition.
These sentiments were also echoed by Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga, who during a recent interview appeared to suggest that the late premier may not have died of natural causes and that there is more than meets the eye.
She stated that when the time comes, she too will speak out.
