“Am competing against Uhuru not Raila,” DP William Ruto
DP William Ruto has sensationally claimed that he’s competing with President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August election.
Speaking will meeting pre-election observors from the International Republican Institute (IRI) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) on Thursday, 30, June, Ruto said he is aware he is competing with his boss Pres Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ruto told the poll observers that his boss Uhuru Kenyatta is running through Raila Odinga in the Azimio coalition.
DP William Ruto said Raila Odinga is vying on Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Party Coalition to which President Uhuru Kenyatta is the chairman.
“In the last election, I and my boss the president were on the same side. In this election, we are on different sides. From where I seat, I’m running more against my boss than his candidate and that is the real complication. The president is the chairman of the party why my competitor is running,” said Ruto.
Ruto explained that President Kenya being the chairman of the Azimio coalition will make decisions that will favour his competitor, Raila Odinga.
