Kalonzo Musyoka now says he’s in control of the Azimio coalition and ready to face President Ruto in 2027.
Wiper party leader and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka now says he has taken control of the coalition and will vie for the presidency in 2027.
Accompanied by a host of leaders from ODM, Jubilee Party, and DAP-Kenya, Kalonzo said he is ready for a battle with President William Ruto, accusing him of using the recently found friendship with Raila Odinga to advance his political ambitions in Nyanza.
“Watu wamesema Wiper leader will be in the ballot in 2027 within Azimio as it will be and as it is even now. People have agreed,” said Kalonzo.

“Kalonzo will be leading us in the operation Okoa Kenya. If you want to call him the official leader it is your choice, if not no problem,” Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni said.
DAP-K boss Eugene Wamalwa added: “ If our ODM brothers have an alternative leader, let them place the name forward. Our brother Kalonzo has stood with Baba three times.”
ODM Deputy Party leader and Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir at the same time reiterated that ODM is firmly in Azimio.
“ODM as a party we are firmly in Azimio. Our coalition remains strong and our moral obligation has not strayed,” said Nassir.
