Arsenal delaying Youri Tielemans transfer as Leicester chairman provides update
Arsenal delaying Youri Tieleman’s transfer as Leicester chairman provides an update on the player’s future.
Youri Tielemans has been on Arsenal’s radar for quite a long but Arsenal are reportedly yet to make a transfer bid for the Leicester City midfielder.
The midfielder has been heavily linked with Manchester United this summer with just 12 months remaining on his contract
Arsenal apparently have one concern, and that’s relating to the player’s physicality, according to a report from talkSPORT.
This seems rather surprising as Tielemans has shown he’s perfectly capable of competing in the Premier League.
Leicester chairman update on Youri Tielemans transfer
Leicester City chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has confirmed that there has been no progress on a deal for Youri Tielemans’ exit from the club is stalling as things currently stand.
The Belgian has 12 months remaining on his contract with the Foxes and could leave this summer before it expires.
Despite Arsenal links, Foxe’s chairman has denied that the club has received any formal proposals this summer.
“It’s nothing. There haven’t been any offers yet. There hasn’t been anything concrete or a proposition yet,” he said.
The Foxes are also open to selling the midfielder for a fee before the end of the window rather than face the prospect of losing him on a free transfer next year.
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers revealed last week that the Foxes are relying on player sales in order to bolster his squad.
‘Clearly, we have to do some business out before we can get players in,’ said Rodgers.
‘We just are not in the same position as some of the other clubs. Until that changes, I keep working with the players we have.’
Arsenal remains interested in Tielemans and he is not the only Leicester player commanding attention this summer.
