Arsenal fans call for Serge Gnabry signing after Raphinha snub
Arsenal fans call for Serge Gnabry signing from Germany giants Bayern Munich after Leeds winger Raphinha snub.
Leeds winger Raphinha is unlikely to make the switch to Arsenal after reaching an agreement with Chelsea.
After the snub, Arsenal fans have been considering potential alternatives that the Gunners could go after.
And one of the major names being propped is fans’ favourite, Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry.
There has been reports in Germany that Arsenal could make a move for a former player, who has reached the final year of his contract at Bayern Munich.
The 26-year-old played 45 games for Bayern Munich last season and is approaching the final year of his contract, so it is time for Arsenal to make a move.
It’s likely that Gnabry’s salary demands will pose issues.
The winger is rumored to want to make €15 million a year, or almost £250,000 a week. That isn’t out of the Gunners’ league, but it’s still a large contract.
Arsenal fans call for Serge Gnabry signing
After it was suggested that Arsenal should sign the German international, there was a mixed response from fans on Twitter as to whether it would be a good idea:
@hulahoopsey
I have preferred Gnabry over this whole Raphinha thing the whole time i don’t know why everyone wanted Raphinha. Gnabry is a gunner through and through
@Mbariis
If we can’t get Raphinha please sign Serge Gnabry as the Raphinha replacement. Best value for money on the market.
@GoonerKale
In all sincerity, I wanted Serge Gnabry over Raphinha but then the club decided it would be Raph over any other winger. Now that Raph is no longer in the picture, can please just bring Serge back where he belongs and add Youri to the team
However, Arsenal will face competition from other European clubs.
Real Madrid have been mentioned as potential suitors, along with Liverpool.
