Arsenal planning double transfer spree of about £80million after tying Eddie Nketiah
Arsenal planning double transfer spree of about £70million after tying Eddie Nketiah to a long-term contract at Emirates.
Arsenal are reportedly planning a double transfer spending of £80million in the next WEEK as they bid to sign forward Gabriel Jesus and defender Lisandro Martinez.
An offer of £35 million for Manchester City forward Jesus, was rejected by the Citizens earlier this month.
However, it is now believed that they have come close enough to the Premier League champions’ £50 million estimate that the transfer will go through.
Meanwhile, according to The Mail, Arsenal are following up on a highly rated Ajax center-back, Martinez.
The Eredivisie championship holders rejected Arsenal’s original £25 million offer.
But Mikel Arteta is willing to return with an improved bid of around £30m to get the transfer over the line.
Martinez’s arrival would provide Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White with the competition for places that they need in Arsenal’s starting line-up.
The Gunners have already confirmed their first signings of the window.
Porto playmaker Fabio Vieira agreed on a deal to join Arsenal for £30m and Maquinhos.
And Arteta’s men have also announced a new five-year deal for forward Eddie Nketiah – who looked set to leave the club after his previous contract expired.
