Arsene Wenger predicts Arsenal have a good chance to win premier league this season

Arsene Wenger predicts Arsenal have a good chance to win premier league this season after a long wait.

Mikel Arteta, according to Arsene Wenger, can put an end to Arsenal’s quest for the Premier League championship, and he feels they have a “strong chance” of winning the league this season.

Wenger guided his team to an undefeated, “Invincible,” league season in 2004 and helped England claim its third Premier League championship in as few as seven years.

Although the Gunners have since won five FA Cups, that wasn’t the beginning of a time of dominance for them, and they have never again reached the pinnacle of English football.

They have had a strong start to the current season, giving supporters confidence that Arteta can finally bring the trophy home to north London.

With champions Manchester City having dropped points already this season, and Liverpool and Chelsea nowhere near as good as would have been expected at the start of the campaign, Arsenal will be viewing this as their best chance in some time.

Now Wenger has added his support to that premise, claiming there is no ‘super dominant’ team this year, giving Arteta and his players an opportunity.

“I would say they [Arsenal] have a good chance this season because I don’t see any super dominating team,” the 72-year-old told Sky Sports.

“I believe that it is a good opportunity to do it this season.

“Of course, it’s a little bit of a special season as well because you have the World Cup in the middle and you don’t know how much that will affect the performances of the individual players and of the teams.

“Overall, I believe there is a good opportunity there this season.”

Despite that optimism and the fact that City have dropped points, Pep Guardiola’s side remains huge favourites to retain the title this season.

The defending champions are just two points behind Arteta’s team, having drawn twice, and the form of Erling Haaland is worrying the entire rest of the league.
