Autopsy report reveals the cause of the IEBC officer’s death, Daniel Musyoka who was found dead in Kajiando County.
According to an autopsy report, Daniel Musyoka, an employee of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), was strangled to death.
A team of five pathologists who were deployed at Oloitokitok Sub-County Hospital Mortuary operated on his body before giving the report.
His family members, investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and representatives from the IEBC all attended the post-mortem.
The pathologists also carried to Nairobi some components for further forensic investigations.
Daniel Musyoka was an IEBC returning officer at Embakasi East Constituency during the August 9 elections.
He was reported missing on August 11 by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati.
His body was later found in Kajiando on Monday, August 15 with signs of torture, according to police reports.
IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati condemned the perpetrators of the slain officer and assured the late Musyoka’s family of support during preparations for his burial.
“It is unfortunate that his stand to do the right thing cost his life. As the commission consoles with the family, we call on security agencies to apprehend his killers.”
“The commission is saddened by the murder of its Returning Officer for Embakasi East, Daniel Musyoka, and expressed its deepest condolences to the family and friends,” reads the statement.
