Azimio claims Ruto appointed 2027 campaign managers, not Cabinet Secretaries

Azimio claims Ruto plans to run the government using advisors, not Cabinet Secretaries adding that the CSs are 2027 campaign managers.

According to Azimio MP John Mbadi, President William Ruto intends to lead the country from the State House using advisors rather than cabinet secretaries.

Mbadi asserted the appointed CS nominees will serve as Ruto’s campaign managers.

Mbadi was speaking on Wednesday in the Parliament during the debate on the vetting committee’s report over the appointment of the cabinet secretaries.

He added that President Ruto had just hired campaign managers for the 2027 general election duping them as cabinet secretaries.

“The President has actually appointed 2027 regional campaign managers. The President is simply telling us to give him a cabinet that is not going to function because he is ready to run the entire government from State House using advisors,” he said.

“The cabinet is deficient in terms of academic qualification, professional competence, experience, and integrity.”

He added that most of the nominees have been charged with corruption cases.

Meanwhile, the Parliament unanimously approved all the cabinet nominees forwarded by William Ruto.

The MPs overruled the minority which had raised issues on the integrity and academic backgrounds of Public Service nominee Aisha Jumwa and her Agriculture counterpart Mithika Linturi.

They also voted against the rejection of Malonza paving the way for amendment of the report through a motion to consider her nomination.
