Azimio leaders spread in secret locations as they wait for Raila’s signal ahead of the mass demonstration in Nairobi CBD.

A defiant Azimio leader Raila Odinga has vowed to lead protesters to State House today, setting up a showdown with police who have declared protected areas are out of bounds.

Mr. Odinga expressly stated that demonstrators will converge at the city centre before marching to State House.

“We shall converge at the Nairobi city centre and begin the journey to State House to reclaim our victory. The time to liberate our nation is now,” Raila declared.

It has been revealed that most Azimio allied MPs are waiting for their leader Raila Odinga’s signal before hitting the streets to lead the march to State House.

According to reports, Azimio leaders are spread in secret locations as they plan on how to storm the Nairobi Central Business District.

Raila had asked supporters to converge at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre before embarking on a march to State House.

Police have been deployed along the key city streets and major roads leading to KICC and State House, complicating Azimio’s plans.

Some Azimio supporters have started converging in the CBD awaiting the start of the protests with key politicians yet to make their way to the streets.

In an interview with local media, four Azimio MPs on condition of anonymity said they had to make last-minute changes to their initial schedules to dodge security agencies.

“We are holed up in various undisclosed locations awaiting baba’s signal before we get out,” one of the MPs said.

“Personally I did not sleep in my house and most of our colleagues are spread all over before we converge in a few.”

The initial plan was that all the Azimio MPs were to converge at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation before marching together to the CBD.

However, fearing house arrests, top Azimio leaders made changes to the itinerary which they are keeping closely guarded.

“We felt that if we tried to converge at JOOF, then that would play into the security officers’ trap to seal the area and block our exit,” another MP said.

At the moment, it is not clear where Raila is located with a spot check at the road leading to his Karen residence showing no activity.
