Babu Owino breaks silence amid hospitalization reports
Babu Owino has addressed growing public concern over his health, assuring Kenyans that he is recovering well after days of speculation online.
Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has addressed growing public concern over his health, assuring Kenyans that he is recovering well after days of speculation online.
In a brief statement shared on X on Saturday, December 13, 2025, the outspoken legislator thanked Kenyans for their concern and support.
“Fellow Kenyans, I sincerely appreciate your concern and care. I am recovering well,” Owino wrote. The post quickly attracted hundreds of reactions, with supporters and colleagues expressing relief and wishing him a speedy and full recovery.
His reassurance followed widespread rumours suggesting he had been hospitalised in Nairobi under unclear circumstances. The lack of official communication had fuelled speculation across social media platforms, prompting calls for clarity on his condition.

Further easing public anxiety, politician Alinur Mohammed also weighed in, saying he had personally reached out to Owino’s family to confirm his condition. In a post on X on the same day, Alinur urged Kenyans to ignore unverified reports.
“To all Kenyans, I’ve spoken directly with the family of Hon. Babu Owino and can confirm he is well and stable. I will be visiting him soon and will share verified updates. Please ignore rumours and let’s choose prayers and goodwill. We wish him strength and a full recovery,” Alinur wrote.
The health update comes shortly after a period of intense political engagement by the MP. Less than a week earlier, on Sunday, December 7, 2025, Owino held a series of rallies across the Nyanza region, visiting Nyando, Muhoroni and Rarieda constituencies.
