Babu Owino hints at the 2027 Presidential bid with Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro as deputy.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has mulled over partnering with Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro in 2027 should he decide to run for the presidency.
Speaking during an interview on Hot96 on Monday, April 21, the MP expressed that Ndindi would be a good running mate to clinch the seat with.
He opined that they would win the elections early in the morning, given their track record and the appeal of their ticket to Kenyans.
“It all depends on the decisions we make together with my brother, Ndindi, who is also a high performer. If we decide to pursue the presidency today, with Ndindi as my deputy, we could do it without even needing to hire agents,” he stated.
On the other hand, he maintained that he was still weighing up his options, adding that he was qualified to be the Head of State and the governor of Nairobi County.
“There are opportunities everywhere. My supporters are passionately urging me to run for president in 2027. I believe I’m more than qualified for all these roles,” he expressed.

Babu Owino and the Kiharu MP have been close friends over the years.
Notably, Ndindi had a fallout with Ruto in 2024, months after the protests. The fallout was more evident during the impeachment of former DP Rigathi Gachagua, as he did not vote in Parliament.
The lawmaker has also been critical of Ruto’s fiscal policies, including his strategy to pay off outstanding debts.
Equally, in the latest changes in Parliament, Ndindi was removed as the Budget Committee chair of the National Assembly and replaced with Alego Usonga MP, Samuel Atandi.
“The last political discussion, either a chat or a discussion, that I had with the President was before October of last year. I do not want to discuss any further about any leader,” the MP remarked after being removed from the committee chairperson.
