A four-year-old boy tragically shoot dead by bandits following a suspected banditry attack in Chepter village, West Pokot County.
According a police report, the boy was shot in the head by the bandits after they invaded his family residence.
The minor is said to have died on the spot.
“A combined team of officers from Chesegon OPS camp and ASTU Chesegon visited the scene and it was established that the suspected bandits shot the male juvenile, aged 4 years, while at their home,” reads the police report.
The boy’s body has since been moved to Kapenguria Level 4 Hospital as investigations into his killing continue.

The bandit attack comes just four days after six people were killed at Lochacha village in West Pokot County following a reported stand-off between cattle rustlers and area residents.
According to reports, three locals who were pursuing the cattle rustlers were allegedly killed by KDF officers tracking the bandits. Residents however managed to kill three cattle rustlers who had made away with an unknown number of goats.
Confirming the incident, West Pokot County Police Commander Peter Katam revealed that investigations into the matter had started, vowing to crack the whip on those who engage in criminal activities.
