A postmortem report on the body of, Sniper reveals that the Meru based blogger was strangled to death.
The deceased Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani, also known as Sniper, died from a strangulation to the neck, according to a postmortem examination of his body.
The test was performed on Friday at the Marimanti Level 4 hospital Mortuary in Tharaka Nithi, Meru County, by government pathologist Johansen Oduor.
The pathologist reported that Sniper had marks on his neck and showed indications of oxygen deprivation.
In addition, he had injuries on his skull and broken ribs, which may indicate that he was strangled before being thrown into a river.
However, he claims that because his body had already decayed, DNA samples were taken to verify he is the one.
He adds that there were no injuries to the defense, which begs the question of whether he was incapacitated to the point of not being able to protect himself.
The pathologist confirmed that Sniper’s body parts were intact.
Family members said the postmortem was done in a satisfying manner and appealed to security agencies to arrest culprits for justice to be served.

Sniper disappeared on December 2, and his body was discovered on December 16, 2023.
Muthiani had allegedly received a call on the day of his disappearance from a well-known acquaintance who wanted him to meet a politician.
Relaying the news to his wife, he prepared and left for Meru town, to meet the acquaintance.
However, he only confirmed his arrival at the destination to his wife, marking the last conversation between the couple.
Since then, his phone was been off and no information of his whereabouts was heard until December 17 when he was found dead.
The blogger was allegedly supposed to meet with Meru County leadership on Saturday, December 2, 2023, when he was reported missing.
