A Kenyan man, Evans Kibiwott Kangogo, was last week found dead at his Seattle apartment in Washington US, three days after his passing.

Kangogo’s body was found after concerns grew among his colleagues when he uncharacteristically missed work for three consecutive days.

His lifeless body was ultimately located at his Northgate apartment in Seattle on June 27. A subsequent autopsy confirmed that Kangogo had died three days prior, on June 24.

The distressing news was announced by Gotabgaa International, an organization dedicated to connecting Kenyans in the US.

“Evans was found on 27th June 2025 deceased in his apartment, Northgate-Seattle (Washington), after failing to report to work for three days. The Coroner’s report indicated that he died on June 24, 2025,” the statement read.

A cause or manner of death has yet to be revealed to the public as at the time of the publishing of this article.

Kangogo hailed from the Kipkalwa Village of Kapkoi-Chebior Sub Location in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

According to Gotabgaa International, he was an alumnus of St. Patrick’s School Iten, class of 2012, and the 2016 class of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT).

The Gotabgaa International community and his family are now seeking financial support to help repatriate his body back to Kenya for its final rites.

His death comes just days after another Kenyan man, Eliud Kipsang, died in Alabama, US, after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest.

Kipsang, a promising middle-distance runner, was reportedly rushed into the hospital after suffering the attack, but efforts to revive him were futile.

He was born in Kapsang, Uasin Gishu County and showed promise of becoming a top athlete from a young age. In 2019, he attended the Africa Championship before moving to the United States to attend college.

It was at the University of Alabama where he made his mark in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) circuit between 2020 and 2023.
