Police in Langata sub county have launched investigations into the mysterious death of a first year student at the Multimedia University.
Sylvia Kemunto’s body was found dumped inside a water tank within the campus compound last evening.
Nairobi county police boss George Seda said officers were alerted that the body of the young lady, who disappeared on Sunday, was seen in the tank.
The police chief suspects the victim was strangulated before her body stuffed into the tank.

Seda said they are pursuing the lady’s boyfriend who is at large following the witnesses account that he was last seen leaving the victim’s room domiciled at block E within the university.
The body has been taken to the City morgue pending further probe and an autopsy test.
Separately, in the neighbouring constituency Kibra, police are investigating a fire incident that left hundreds of Lainisaba residents in the cold.
The inferno razed down more than 200 structures in an incident that left several victims counting untold losses.
Seda said they are probing the matter even as he suspects a faulty electricity connection as the cause of the fire.
