Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria issues demand after a businessman abducted in Nakuru is found dead.

Speaking in the National Assembly on Thursday, Gikaria confirmed that the deceased, Sadat Kilonzo, was abducted at a marketplace in Nakuru CBD on Monday, June 17.

The body of the businessman was later that day recovered 500 kilometers from his point of abduction.

“I rise to request a statement from the chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security regarding the death of Sadat Kilonzo in Nakuru Constituency,” he stated.

“On June 17, at around 5:00 am, Mr Sadat was abducted by unknown persons at the entrance of Wakulima Market within Nakuru CBD.”

“Sadly, his body was discovered later that morning near Menengai High School approximately 500 meters from where he was abducted,” he added.

Of concern, the lawmaker questioned why the motorcycle he owned was found at a police station several kilometers from the point of his abduction or where his body was found.

“His motorcycle was also found later that day at Rhonda Police Station. It is unclear on how his body and motorcycle ended up in different locations,” Gikaria lamented.

As a result, the MP made four demands to the Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security including why CCTV footage tracking the incident is yet to be released.

He further raised concerns about the increased insecurity, especially in Nakuru County, and demanded an explanation of measures the country is taking to remedy the situation.

“What is the status of investigations into the circumstances that led death of Sadat Kilonzo and what measures have been put in place to stop such incidences in the future,” he demanded.

“Clarify how the motorcycle of the deceased was found at Rhonda Police Station which is over 5 kilometers from where the body was found.”
