President William Ruto’s daughter Charlene Ruto appointed to a government job as Kenya’s Blood Ambassador.
Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha has appointed President William Ruto’s daughter Charlene Ruto as Kenya’s Blood Ambassador.
CS Nakhumicha in a statement said the Ministry of Health recognizes Charlene’s contribution to Kenya through blood donation advocacy and mobilizing the public to engage in blood donations.
According to the Health CS Charlene in her new role will collaborate with the Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority from time to time in blood-related events.
“This letter is to appoint you as a Kenya Blood Ambassador and ask that: you continue to be a spokesperson to your friends, Kenyan Youth family, peers, and Kenyan citizens and to engage and encourage people to give blood to save lives; from time to time collaborate with the Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority, or partners in blood-related events including public education and resource mobilization,” the statement read in part.
Following the appointment, Charlene thanked CS Nakhumicha and the Ministry of Health for the role and urged Kenyans to donate blood.

“Thank you to the Ministry of Health and our CS Susan Nakhumicha for including me in this initiative run by official_ktta and supported by kenyan_by_blood. Let’s donate blood,” Charlene stated.
The First Daughter has been vocal in championing for rights of the less privileged Kenyans in society.
She has also been having a series of political engagements including visits to county assemblies.
In December 2022, Charlene was on the spot after she mentioned that was running a fully staffed Office of the First Daughter.
This caused uproar online after Kenyans raised concerns about whether the office was being funded using taxpayers’ money.
Charlene Ruto later clarified that her office was a private entity that is neither a constitutional office nor is it being funded by the Kenyan taxpayer.
