Chelsea begins transfer talks with £42m defender after collapsing of Nathan Ake deal

Chelsea begins transfer talks with £42m rated PSG defender after collapsing of Man City’s Nathan Ake deal.

According to Footmercato reporter Santi Aouna, Chelsea are in discussions with the representatives of Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe.

The French journalist claims the “first exchanges” have already taken place between the Blues and Kimpembe’s agent to see whether a transfer is possible:

Santi Aouna also believes that Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has spoken to Kimpembe “recently” to explain his project to him.

According to reports, the German wants the center back to join forces with Kalidou Koulibaly and Thiago Silva to form a powerful three-man backline.

If a contract agreement can be made, Kimpembe would still want to stay at PSG, but if he is forced to leave the Parc des Princes, he is reportedly more interested in moving to England.

Aouna stated earlier this month that Kimpembe would be a great replacement for Nathan Ake if he were to become available and that sporting director Luis Campos is eager to sell him for €50 million (£42 million).

Chelsea begab transfer talks after the deal of the Manchester City center-half, Nathan Ake reportedly collapsed due to an inability to reach an agreement on a price.
