Chelsea considering plan to move to a new stadium from Stamford Bridge

Chelsea under the new management are considering plan to move to a new stadium from Stamford Bridge according to to report.

The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea is contemplating moving from Stamford Bridge to a new stadium in Earls Court.

The Blues have thought about moving before; in 2013, under former owner Roman Abramovich having considered Earls Court as an ideal place.

The possible relocation was turned down by the Hammersmith and Fulham council, but the Russian millionaire was unable to make it happen and continued to reside at the Bridge.

The Boehly-Clearlake collaboration is actively establishing its mark in west London and is currently in charge of the Blues.

The new management at Stamford Bridge has considered moving to Earls Court again, where they might erect a 60,000-seat stadium on 40 acres of property.

A source, however, told Daily Mail that building a stadium in Earls Court was “not on the cards, but not impossible. Things can change.”

The Chelsea higher-ups aren’t just looking at Earls Court, as other options remain available to them. These include seeking out other sites for a new stadium and rebuilding Stamford Bridge entirely.

It would be difficult for them to move out of their current west London property because doing so would entail getting approval from Chelsea Pitch Owners, who have a 180-year lease on the freehold. The name “Chelsea FC” cannot be used if the Blues relocate without authorization.

Chelsea, meanwhile, will enter the World Cup break in eighth place after going winless in five straight Premier League games. Graham Potter’s team had two draws in October against Brentford and Manchester United before dropping three straight games against Brighton, Arsenal, and Newcastle.

Graham Potter will hope he can rejuvenate his stumbling side after the World Cup break comes to an end.
