Chelsea draws up £140m transfer deal after latest Raphinha development
Chelsea draws up £140m transfer deal after latest Leeds United winger Raphinha development.
According to reports, Chelsea wants to let Raphinha go and is interested in AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry.
Despite Chelsea having had a £55 million proposal accepted by the Yorkshire club, Leeds United winger Raphinha has made it obvious that he would rather join Barcelona in La Liga than remain in the Premier League.
Fabrizio Romano had insisted that Raphinha was “optimistic” that a deal to Barcelona would go through after Barcelona made an improved “verbal bid” on Sunday.
He added that Leeds “are still waiting for Barcelona to submit the official proposal” and that “it’s the final but key step” before they can announce his signing.
And now The Guardian claims that Chelsea “have responded,” by “drawing up a new plan in response to the news of Raphinha’s impending transfer to Barcelona.
Thomas Tuchel is reportedly interested in both Leao of AC Milan and Serge Gnabry of Bayern Munich.
The German coach is looking for a versatile forward who can play up front.
Gnabry, whose contract at the Allianz Arena expires in just one year, is a target that Chelsea is keeping an eye on because he “may be a more attainable target than” Leao.
The Guardian claims that Milan ‘could demand at least £100m’ for the Portugal international after he contributed 11 goals and eight assists in 34 Serie A appearances last term.
Gnabry is likely to ‘be cheaper’ with previous reports putting his value this summer at around £40m with Bayern apparently keen to cash in for the right price.
