Chelsea enters Benjamin Pavard race after suffering a major blow to sign Juventus defender, Matthijs de Ligt.

Chelsea have expressed an interest in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Benjamin Pavard.

The Blues are in a race to sign replacements for Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen with Tuchel eager to bring in at least two center-halves this summer.

Thomas Tuchel’s side has for quite a long been linked to Jules Kounde and Presnel Kimpembe with the club also in talks to sign Nathan Ake from Manchester City.

And recently, Juventus defender, Matthijs de Ligt has emerged as the club’s top target with Chelsea negotiating a transfer fee.

However, Bayern Munich have entered De Ligt race to sign him reports claiming he prefers a move to Germany.

But according to Sky Germany, Chelsea are now positioning themselves to sign France’s international Pavard.

The 26-year-old has two more years left on his contract in Germany.

Bayern are open to letting the former Stuttgart defender go this summer with Sky Germany naming Chelsea among the clubs interested in his services with Atletico Madrid and Juventus also monitoring the situation.
