Chelsea First Signing Close To Conclusion

Chelsea First Signing of Milan Player Ivan Perisic Close To Conclusion Ahead of Summer Transfer.

According to Sport Mediaset, Chelsea are close to signing Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic on a free transfer this summer.

With Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen’s contracts expiring on June 30, the Blues are expected to bolster their central defense options for next season.

They may also need to strengthen their wing-back department, with reports suggesting Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta are considering summer exits.

Chelsea First Signing Claims

Sport Mediaset claims that Perisic has a practical agreement in place with Chelsea, who are set to offer him a better salary than Inter’s €4.5 million annual package.

Perisic’s deal with the Nerazzurri expires on June 30, and it is reported that only a medical examination and a contract is left to be signed to secure his free transfer to Chelsea.

Perisic, 33, is unlikely to be a long-term option for the Blues, but he would be a valuable addition given his success as a left wing-back for Inter Milan.

Over the last two years, he has almost taken over the post. In 47 games in all competitions this season, he has an impressive nine goals and eight assists.

He has had no issue adjusting to the role as a winger, and Tuchel may be inclined to pursue him instead of investing big money on a rising star.

Chelsea has already demonstrated that they are open to bringing in experienced players.

Silva arrived on a free transfer when he was nearly 36 years old and has been fantastic for them.

Perisic would be a formidable opponent for Chilwell.

In Serie A this season, the Croatian has a defensive average of 1.4 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, and 1.7 aerial duels won.
