Chelsea will focus on a new midfielder in the next transfer window of 2023 according to football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Since the summer transfer window closed, all attention has been focused on building out the backroom staff and employing additional executives and specialists for the club’s various departments as Chelsea makes some significant plans at the moment.
Todd Boehly has been doing it all right now, so he clearly needs some help to take the weight off.
Chelsea will try to hire more personnel for a variety of positions, which will finally have them running smoothly with a top-notch hiring division.
While all of this is going on, preparations will also be made for the upcoming summer transfer window as well as the upcoming January transfer window.
The issue with midfielders will be similar to that of defenders from the previous summer, since two important players, N’Golo Kante and Jorginho, will both be free agents by that time.

Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has said that Chelsea will focus on new midfielders in 2023.
In his latest Substack newsletter, Romano writes: “In my personal opinion, they need some energy and freshness in the midfield.
“It’s important to understand what’s gonna happen with Kante and Jorginho’s contracts; I think they will focus on a new midfielder in 2023.
“Now it will take some time to understand Freund and Potter’s priorities.”
