CNN International has hired Kenyan journalist and anchor Victoria Rubadiri for a new role on its long-running multi-platform series Connecting Africa
CNN International has hired Kenyan journalist and anchor Victoria Rubadiri for a new role on its long-running multi-platform series Connecting Africa.
The Former Citizen TV news anchor will also contribute to the network’s news-gathering operation in Nairobi.
The series has run for 5 years and covers stories of emerging and expanding businesses across Africa. It also explores the impacts of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement across the continent.
Rubadiri will accompany Eleni Giokos on Connecting Africa, who has been a CNN correspondent based in the network’s UAE bureau since 2015.
Rubadiri previously reported for Citizen TV where she was a senior anchor in the network’s Nairobi headquarters.
She also has extensive experience as a radio presenter both in Kenya and the US, where she studied a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism at Temple University in Philadelphia.

In 2020, Rubadiri was awarded the BBC World News Komla Dumor Award for her exceptional talent in telling African stories.
