The Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) has now raised an alarm about the integrity of the forthcoming national examinations, due to the cash crunch suffered across secondary schools
The Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) has now raised an alarm about the integrity of the forthcoming national examinations, due to the cash crunch suffered across secondary schools.
Speaking in Murang’a, KESSHA national chairperson Willy Kuria indicated that the pending capitation amounting to Ksh.24 billion has adversely affected school operations, including the procurement of reagents for science subject practicals for KCSE.
Kuria also pointed out that the cash crunch has put school heads in a difficult position as they are unable to pay suppliers some of who have threatened to halt the supply of commodities including food.

Education CS Julius Migos had in August announced the release of Ksh.21.8 billion to schools to facilitate operations during the third term of the 2024 academic calendar.
“The schools are finding it difficult to prepare for the KCSE examinations. The workers, even the lab technicians are also supposed to be paid using the funds hence it makes these operations to be difficult,” Kuria stated.
