Cristiano Ronaldo looking to leave Manchester United as Bayern Munich “contacts him”

Cristiano Ronaldo looking to leave Manchester United this summer over their lack of progress in the transfer market.

Portugal international is growing frustrated at Manchester United due to the slow pace in the transfer market.

And according to AS reports on Thursday, Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich are planning to land him if Robert Lewandowski departs Allianz Arena this summer.

Ronaldo, 37, has a year left on his contract and both he and new manager Erik ten Hag have spoken with the excitement of another season after the Dutchman implements a squad rebuild.

But Ten Hag is still yet to make a single signing despite the long pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong and Ajax winger Antony.

And according to Portuguese outlet Record, a heavily frustrated Ronaldo is ready to quit Man United due to their apparent lack of transfer ambition.

And the former Sporting Lisbon and Juventus star has reportedly issued the club an ultimatum – ‘up your game or I’ll leave’.

Ronaldo is said to have informed his inner circle that a continued lack of transfers would see him start looking for another club.

He had previously told the United website: ‘What I know about (ten Hag) is he did a fantastic job for Ajax, that he’s an experienced coach. But we need to give him time.

‘Things need to change the way he wants. I hope we have success, of course, because, if you have success, all of Manchester is going to have success as well. I wish him the best.

Ronaldo has already competed in three of the top five European football leagues, winning domestic championships in each of them while playing for United in the Premier League, Real Madrid in La Liga, and Juventus in Serie A.

He will have a decent chance to add the German top division championship to his list of accomplishments if he joins Bayern.

Lewandowski’s transfer request to Barcelona has been handled by Bayern for more than a month.

The eight-year veteran striker from Poland made it obvious that he wants to join Camp Nou, even at the expense of a rift with Bayern.
