Cristiano Ronaldo missing training for a second day is telling his future lies elsewhere
Cristiano Ronaldo missing training for a second day consecutively is quite telling that his future lies elsewhere.
Cristiano Ronaldo has missed training for a second day leaving Manchester United unsure over his return.
News broke out on Saturday that Ronaldo had informed the club of his desire to leave this transfer window.
According to sources, Ronaldo initially stated that he wanted to be a part of the club’s rebuild, but he has since changed his mind and now intends to move on to greener pastures.
And Cristiano Ronaldo missing training could suggest his future lies elsewhere and not at Manchester United.
The Portugal star had cited family reasons as an explanation, which United have accepted, but they remain unsure as to when he will be back.
Man United’s squad flies out to Bangkok on Friday for a pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia and questions as to whether Ronaldo will be heading out with them remains unanswered.
It is an unwanted distraction for the club and leaves them in the lurch regarding their summer recruitment.
Bayern Munich have been linked with a move for Ronaldo with Chelsea also emerging as a shock destination.
American Todd Boehly has recently purchased the west London club and wants to make a statement by adding a marquee signing this summer. Ronaldo would fit the bill and talks have been held with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, about a possible move.
However, Man United still maintain that Ronaldo has a year left on his deal and they expect him to see it out.
