Patrick Makau, Azimio MP from Mavoko arrested after DCI raided his Karen home over Mlolongo protests.
Mavoko Member of Parliament Patrick Makau was arrested on Thursday, July 13, over his alleged involvement in Wednesday’s protests.
His house was raided at 4 am, where detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) took him to the directorate’s offices in Kiambu.

The lawmaker is accused of orchestrating the violence that was witnessed in Mlolongo area during the Azimio la Umoja mass protests.
During the protests, rowdy youth blocked a portion of the Nairobi Expressway in Mlolongo area and engaged police in running battles for the better part of Wednesday afternoon.
His arrest comes after Interior CS Kithure Kindiki vowed that persons who partook in the demonstrations, both directly and indirectly, will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
At least nine people are reported to have died in the protests, including four in Mlolongo, two in Kitengela, and one in Emali in Makueni County.
