The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) candidate for Magarini has left the party, citing frustrations from key party officials.

In a letter on Monday, Furaha Chengo Ngumbao, a member of the National Executive Committee said that his experience with the party’s National Elections Board (NEB) and Secretary-General (SG) Hezron Obanga has been profoundly disappointing.

“The persistent lack of communication, disregard for grassroots concerns, and failure to provide clear directives have created an environment where aspirants like myself are left to navigate,” he said.

Ngumbao added that there has been opaque decision-making processes, and the marginalisation of NEC members in key deliberations which have eroded his confidence to work for the party.

“I hope that future leadership will prioritize transparency, inclusivity, and accountability,” he added.

He has also urged the party to streamline its active engagement and trust for its members, warning of a risk of alienating its supporters.

The move will seemingly cripple the party’s goal to secure many political seats in the upcoming by-elections scheduled for November 27.

Ngumbao received the party’s nomination certificate on September 18 from SG Obaga, who expressed confidence in his candidature.
