DJ Joe Mfalme and his handlers arrested for allegedly beating a senior DCI detective to death.

Popular Kenyan DJ Joseph Mwenda Munoro alias DJ Joe Mfalme was on Friday arrested alongside three others in relation to the death of Felix Kelian Kitosi, a police inspector based at the Dagoretti Directorate of Criminal Investigation office.

According to the police report, the DJ alongside three other police officers, two males and a female allegedly attacked and seriously assaulted Kelian in a road rage in the incident that happened on March 16, 2024, in the Kikuyu area, near Kikuyu Police Station around 4 am. 

Police said the DJ Mfalme was picked up on Friday alongside his bouncer, driver, and photographer after the incident.

The assault, according to a police report, happened after the officer was involved in a “non-injury traffic accident” on the said date at around 4 am within Kikuyu market.

Kelian did not identify himself as an officer during the rage.

Traffic police attended the scene minutes later. 

Kelian would later complain of abdominal pain and other injuries sustained during the incident and was admitted at Nairobi West Hospital where he died on Friday, 22, while undergoing treatment. 

His body was moved to Umash Funeral Home pending autopsy.
