Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's spouse Pastor Dorcas Gachagua has issued a statement following Kithure Kindiki's swearing-in as deputy president

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s spouse Pastor Dorcas Gachagua has issued a statement following Kithure Kindiki’s swearing-in as deputy president.

In a social media post on Friday, November 1, Pastor Dorcas shared two Bible verses and expressed that her family was grateful to God.

“We Give God all the glory. It is easy to look at the challenges and circumstances surrounding you and forget the cardinal rule of a believer.

Today, my family and I choose to give a prayer of thanksgiving, understanding that, God remains sovereign, whether He saves us from fire or not, Daniel 3:16-18. We give thanks to God for His awesome faithfulness. We call Him, Ebenezer, for this far we celebrate Him. We have seen His mercy and experienced His goodness. Glory and honour be to His Holy name,” she wrote in part.

Pastor Dorcas added, “Like Job 13:15-16. Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face. Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance, for no godless person would dare come before him! We appreciate your love and prayers. May God bless you all.”

The ceremony took place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre and was attended by President William Ruto, Chief Justice Martha Koome, and numerous dignitaries.

Kindiki took two oaths: the oath of allegiance and the oath of office, committing to uphold the Constitution and serve the people diligently.

His appointment came swiftly after a court lifted restrictions that had delayed his inauguration, stemming from Gachagua’s legal challenges against his removal.

Kindiki expressed gratitude to God and President Ruto for the opportunity to serve in this high office, emphasizing his dedication to national unity and public service.

“Words fail me to explain how grateful I am today. I will say that I am grateful to Almighty God who orders the steps and affairs of every human being on earth. I am grateful to you sir for the honour you have given me to serve under you,” he said.
