DP Gachagua to Meet Uhuru for a cup of tea to make peace

DP Gachagua to Meet Uhuru for a cup of tea to make peace after attacking during his inauguration ceremony.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed interest in having a cup of tea with former President Uhuru Kenyatta to reminisce and patch things up.

The DP claimed that their conflict was only a result of politics and expressed his desire to reunite with Uhuru, with whom he had known for 20 years.

The former Mathira MP remarked in an interview with KTN News that their conflict was not personal and that he would seek him out for a cup of tea.

“We have no problem with our outgoing president Uhuru Kenyatta. We wish him well in retirement. You know he is my buddy of 20 years, and when things settle down, I will look for him and catch up on good times,” he said.

“This was all politics, there was nothing personal. He wanted this way and I wanted another, I have won he has lost and we move on. And I will look for him we have a cup of tea, we have a chat and catch up on the good old days.”

Kenya Kwanza’s top leadership insists they have no problem with Uhuru, whose reign they castigated and accused of intimidating them.

DP Gachagua during his inauguration speech on September 13 lashed out at Uhuru blaming him for the nation’s “dilapidated” state.

Without mincing his words, the second in command accused Uhuru of plummeting the country’s economy, which the new government will have an uphill task to rebuild.

“The truth of the matter is that we have inherited a dilapidated economy which is almost facing shut down. We have a huge task to liberate this country and bring it back to where Mwai Kibaki left it,” said Gachagua.

Gachagua however clarified that his speech was motivated by the need to tell Kenyans the truth rather than a personal vendetta against Uhuru.
