DP Kindiki pledges to help children of religious leaders get jobs in government

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has promised to support children and families of religious leaders to find job opportunities within the Public Service.

Speaking on Tuesday April 15 evening, during the Africa Revival Agenda Conference at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, DP Kindiki noted that most religious leaders spend time praying and thinking about other people, and forget about themselves and their families.

The Deputy President noted that he understands members of the clergy well since he was raised in a pastor’s home.

“Men and women of God spend all their time praying and thinking about other people. Many times, they do not have time to pray for themselves and their families.

“I’m saying that from my own experience, I have already told you I grew up in a pastor’s home. We will be able to support some of you who have children or people you want us to help find opportunities to serve the country in various capacities in the public service,” said Kindiki.

At the same time, the second in command called on religious leaders to offer constructive criticism to the government with love.

Kindiki noted that the Kenya Kwanza administration is a listening government and will adjust when corrected by the clergy.

“The bible says there is no authority except that which comes from God, to say that does not mean you must not correct us when we go astray. What we plead for is to correct us in love.

“Don’t talk to us as if over and above the correction you have other issues. Your role is to correct us and bring us back and we are a listening government, we will listen and adjust where we are not doing well,” Kindiki added.
