EACC recommends suspension of NGAAF CEO Roy Sasaka amid Ksh.1B graft case
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has recommended the suspension of National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) CEO Roy Sasaka Telewa as it probes his alleged possession of unexplained wealth valued at approximately Ksh.1 billion.
In a letter penned to Gender Cabinet Secretary (CS) Hanna Wendot Cheptumo, EACC wants Telewa to be suspended for six months in accordance with guidelines under the Public Service Code of Conduct and Ethics, 2016.
Section 36 (6) states that “Subject to any other written law, a public officer against whom an allegation has been made under this paragraph may be suspended from office while an inquiry is made regarding the allegation.
Similar guidelines are included in Section 42(7) of the Leadership and Integrity Act, 2012 and Regulation 25(1) of the Leadership and Integrity Regulations, 2015.
Telewa has, however, moved to court to block his suspension, where Justice Jemimah Keli granted his plea.

Justice Keli barred the NGAAF Board and CS Cheptumo from convening any meeting aimed at his suspension or removal, or appointing an acting CEO of NGAAF.
“The court is further pleased to issue a temporary conservatory order restraining the respondents from suspending, removing, terminating or purporting to terminate the petitioner’s contract of service,” read her judgment in part.
EACC had summoned Telewa following a search operation conducted at his residence and office on January 8, 2026, as part of an ongoing probe into suspected corruption.
The Commission said the operation led to the recovery of critical evidentiary material to support investigations.
