In three years, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has recovered assets and funds worth $22.8 billion that were stolen according to the commission’s CEO Twalib Mbarak.
The CEO further revealed that by proactive investigations and the dismantling of corruption networks, the Commission prevented a loss of around Sh32.5 billion.
The EACC CEO was speaking during the induction of Members of the National Assembly this week in Naivasha.
He revealed that EACC concluded 501 investigations on corruption which included high-impact cases involving 9 former/current Governors, Principal Secretaries, Senators, MPs, and Managing Directors of State Corporations among others.
