Suspect, Anne Adhiambo in Nairobi Hospital Finance Director Eric Maigo’s murder pleads guilty.
The prime suspect in the killing of former Nairobi Hospital Acting Finance Director Eric Maigo has pleaded guilty to murder charges.
While appearing before Justice Kaanyi Kimondo, Anne Adhiambo pleaded guilty to murder, just weeks after the prosecution told the court she was an adult of sound mind and could stand trial.
The court clerk read to her three times the offence she is accused of killing and Adhiambo responded in affirmative.
Her response forced the Prosecution to give her time to consult with her lawyers again before she could plead again to the charges.
“I am giving you more time so that you can consult your lawyer and get an understanding of what you have told the court,” the judge directed.
“In the interest of justice, I have given her time to consult with her lawyer before taking plea again.”
Adhiambo is represented by Lawyer Samuel Ayora.

The suspect who has been remanded at Lang’ata Women’s Prison ahead of the charges was arrested in connection to Maigo’s death.
Her arrest comes after CCTV footage captured her escaping residential houses that neighbour Eric Maigo’s home in Woodley, Nairobi.
Maigo was found dead at his home in Woodley Estate on September 15 with police launching a manhunt for the suspect.
After days of search, the suspect was arrested in Kibera by detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The suspect is said to have stabbed Maigo 25 times to death.
Meanwhile, the motive behind the murder of the finance officer is yet to be established.
