Comedian Eric Omondi has been arrested while protesting outside Parliament Buildings.
Police officers manning parliament buildings on Friday, June 21, arrested popular comedian Eric Omondi.
The comedian was arrested after staging demonstrations outside the Bunge Towers in protests against the contagious Finance Bill 2024.
The comedian and activist was on a horse marching with the others when police officers followed them.
“Power to the people,” they were heard chanting.
In the widely circulated videos, the comedian could be captured seated on top of a horse while making anti-tax chant towards the officers who were watching from a distance.

However, the protests were cut short after police officers intervened to quell the escalating demonstrations.
The officers could be captured swiftly rushing towards the comedian before dislodging him from the top of a horse.
The officers could then be seen whipping the comedian severally before detaining him.
Omondi was in the company of fellow protesters who scampered away leaving Eric Omondi helpless at the police’s hands.
