Eric Omondi opens up on replacing Jalang’o as Lang’ata MP in 2027

Eric Omondi hints at vying for Lang'ata MP seat (currently held by ODM rebel MP Felix Odiwour alias Jalango) in 2027
Eric Omondi hints at vying for Lang’ata MP seat (currently held by ODM rebel MP Felix Odiwour alias Jalango) in 2027.
Comedian-cum-activist Eric Omondi has suggested that he may enter politics, despite the fact that he has stated that such ambitions are not part of his immediate objectives.
Omondi made the revelations during a media interview on Friday when he was pressed to say whether or not he harbours political ambitions, especially in Langa’ta constituency.
“I’m not planning or replacing anyone but given a chance, I would,” he said.
Omondi claimed that since the Parliamentary House is where laws are made, being in Parliament will provide him a better opportunity to fight for the rights of Kenyans.
He slammed the MPs who supported the Finance Bill 2023, claiming they were betraying Kenyans and no longer deserved to be in Parliament.
“I can only shout so much on your microphones but when it comes to voting (on Bills) it’s the MPs who vote. If I had a chance to remove them, I would remove them today not 2027.”

The comedian said that if anything, a vote of no confidence should be moved against the Kenya Kwanza government.
“If there is a way to remove this government now, we would be very smart to do it now…MPs are only 300, Kenyans are 55 million,” Omondi said.
When questioned further about his political aspirations, Omondi stated that although he has never considered running for the Lang’ata parliamentary seat, he will do so if the electorate in the region requests that he serve in that capacity.
“I have never talked about Lang’ata (but if it’s) Kenyans this is what I will tell them. The voice of the people is God’s voice.”
