EU in its post-election evaluation report lauds IEBC for “upholding transparency and integrity” elections.

Kenyans have received praise from the European Union for how they conducted before, during, and after the general elections on August 9, 2022.

In addition, Henriette Geiger, the ambassador of the EU to Kenya, praised the IEBC for “upholding transparency and integrity” throughout the election process.

“The Kenyan people deserve a perfect score for their outstanding performance in the elections,” he remarked.

“I want to thank Kenyans for their commitment to peace, which is the way forward to an advanced democracy.”

Geiger was was speaking on Monday at the Safari Park Hotel for the release of the IEBC’s post-election evaluation report for the election on August 9, 2022.

In order to give Kenyans an even better election in 2027, the ambassador urged with the IEBC to build on the successes of the last election.

“The EU will support and stand firmly by IEBC,” she added.

Geiger further congratulated IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati and commissioners Boya Molu and Abdi Guliye for “an outstanding job done.”

“You did a great service to Kenyans. You are the first ones to complete the full constitutional term of six years,” she said.
