CIES Football Observatory; Five Manchester United players feature in the top 100 most expensive players.
The CIES Football Observatory has released the latest weekly post of the highest estimated transfer values.
In the list of up-to-date rankings of the one hundred footballers, five Man United players featured in the list.
These values are calculated using an econometric model which takes into account a large number of variables.
The four United players in CIES Football Observatory
Jadon Sancho
Top of the list for United is Jadon Sancho, valued at €103.2 million.
Despite the fact that Sancho’s first season in England was not his best, his transfer value remains high.
The winger’s superstar potential is undeniable, and this only serves to confirm that.
His goal and assist totals in the Bundesliga were exceptional, which contributed to Manchester United’s decision to pay £72 million for him last summer.
Bruno Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes unsurprisingly came in second valued at €97.8 million and was 17th on the list.
Fernandes is one of the best goalscoring midfielders in world football and for Manchester United.
Mason Greenwood
Third at the club is Mason Greenwood, who is suspended from duty until further notice.
Scott McTominay
Scott McTominay, a Scottish midfielder, is ranked fourth out of a hundred players.
Scott McTominay’s projected transfer value is estimated to be €67.5 million.
The midfielder’s progress over the last 12 months is the main reason for this, with him scoring more goals and making better use of his powerful ball carries to become a more useful player for the club.
He has a long-term deal with United because he is an integral member of the squad. He is a homegrown player from the club’s academy.
Harry Maguire
Harry Maguire was 97th valued at €52 million.
His age of over 26 at the time of his transfer largely is the reason his valuation is lower than his teammates who made this list.
It has not been Maguire’s best year but he remains a good and valuable player, and there is reason to have hope that he can make a turnaround next season.
