Former Busia Deputy Governor Moses Mulomi is dead.
Mulomi, who was also the 2022 gubernatorial candidate for Democratic Action Party Kenya (DAP-K) in the county, died on Tuesday, January 28, following a short illness.
Confirming his death, former Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong disclosed that the deceased developed health complications while on his way to Nairobi.
“Mulomi was on his way to Nairobi, where he developed health complications in Nakuru. He was a great leader who devoted his life to the service of humanity. His unwavering loyalty and service are exemplary and self-evident,” Ojaamong remarked.
Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah mourned Mulomi as a true leader who served with humility and dedication.
Omtatah maintained that Mulomi’s contributions to Busia County will be remembered even as he passed his condolences to the deceased’s family.

“Mulomi was a true leader who served with humility and dedication, always placing the interests of our county and its people at the forefront of his work. His quiet strength, invaluable guidance, and unwavering commitment to progress made him not just a political mentor, but a father figure and a trusted advisor to many, including myself.
“His contributions to Busia County, both as deputy governor and as a dedicated public servant, will always be remembered. The impact of his leadership will be felt for generations to come,” Omtatah remarked.
DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa mourned Mulomi as a resourceful person who touched many lives and left a mark on development and politics.
“Deeply saddened on the untimely loss of my good friend Hon Moses Mulomi, the former Deputy Governor for Busia County and our 2022 DAP-K gubernatorial candidate,” Wamalwa stated.
He added, “His loss has robbed the family, bamarachi, the people of Busia and Kenya, a resourceful person who touched many lives and left a mark in development, politics and the devolution space.”
