Former Raila Odinga aide Silas Jakakimba has announced separation from his wife of four years, Florence Adhiambo.
In a statement on Thursday, July 17, 2025, Jakakimba, who was recently on a holiday in Greece, declined to disclose the reasons for the divorce, only stating that it was a difficult decision.
“After careful consideration and much reflection, we – Silas Jakakimba and Florence Adhiambo, have made the difficult but in certain and often times – extremely considerate decision to separate,” the statement reads in part.
“This decision was reached mutually and, with respect for one another, noting with deep appreciation and gratitude, the immense love and support from both sides of our Innermost Families and Spiritual Leaders as we sought to make this decision public.”
He, however, revealed that they will remain committed to the well-being of members of their family during the period of their separation.
“We remain fully committed to maintaining the privacy and well-being of our Family during this transition. We ask that our privacy be respected as we navigate this personal matter,” the couple said.

The separation comes barely four years after Jakakimba and Florence tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony at the lush Safari Park Hotel gardens on Saturday, October 16, 2021.
The exclusive ceremony was attended by senior lawyer colleagues and other prominent personalities in the country. The couple took off in a chopper shortly after exchanging marriage vows at the city hotel.
In 2022, a public spat with Jakakimba’s first wife, Beryl, took an unprecedented turn after she said that her life was in danger, with the person behind the remarks being Jakakimba.
“I’m being threatened for speaking up my truth. If anything happens to me, then Silas Jakakimba should be held responsible. Just for the record, he’s a licensed firearm holder. #MyLifeIsInDanger.” Beryl said in a Facebook post in 2022.
