And today, 6, June IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati revoked Presidential nomination certificate issued to Walter Mong’are after discovering his academic certificates had irregularities.

This was after Jimi Wanjigi had questioned how and why IEBC cleared Mong’are without a degree cert.

Safina Party presidential aspirant Jimi Wanjigi had earlier Monday denied clearence on ground he lacked degree certificate.

He is scheduled for graduation in December 2022; with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Security Studies student at Daystar University.

Wanjigi claimed that Mong’are was yet to complete his undergraduate studies, and did not have a bachelor’s degree.

The axing of Mong’are from the list means that only four candidates will be on the ballot paper.

According to the Constitution, it is a must for a presidential candidate to be a holder of at least a bachelor’s degree.
